Sufficient airport and airspace capacity to meet expected airline demand is necessary to ensure optimal fuel efficiency and reduce flight delays. Infrastructure must also be delivered in the most cost-effective way. Through this work ERA ensures that its airline members have the capacity they need in which to operate.

Managing airspace and the infrastructure required to meet the needs of all air operators is highly complex. Policy is coordinated through the Air Operators Infrastructure Policy Group (AIPG) of which ERA is a member.
