EASA has reduced the consultation period for CRD 2010-03: "Introduction of ACAS II software version 7.1" to three weeks. All reactions to this CRD must now be with EASA by 8 October instead of 14 November 2010. At the end of March 2010 EASA issued for comment Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) NO 2010-03 which related to “Introduction of ACAS II software version 7.1”. Basically the rule which requires an upgrade to ACAS comes into force on 1 March 2012. Originally the rule was to apply after 1 March 2014 to aeroplanes with an individual certificate of airworthiness issued before 1 March 2012. However, as will be seen in the CRD, the application date has now been extended for these aeroplanes to after 1 December 2015. Comment Response Documents chart the feedback received during the Consultation phase (or Notice of Proposed Amendment phase) of the Rulemaking Procedure. They provide explanatory notes on the Consultation phase, and provide the Agency's response to this feedback. They are published for a given Comments and Review period which ends on the Closing Date of Publication. After this phase, the Rulemaking Procedure enters the Adoption and Publication phase. The Agency has developed a Comment Response Tool (CRT) that is used to automate the consultation process for Notices of Proposed Amendments (NPA) and Comment-Response Documents (CRD). If members have any reactions on this CRD they can either contact Technical Services or submit them directly to EASA using the CRT on or before 8 October 2010. The CRT allows users to view the CRDs and add their reactions before the publication of the final Decision or Opinion.
