The next Industry Affairs Group (IAG) meeting will focus on the upcoming revision of the EU legislation on Air Passenger Rights (Regulation 261/2004). The event will represent an invaluable opportunity for ERA members to meet and discuss with key European Regulators, in view of a likely legislative proposal expected to be issued by the Commission by the end of this year. The meeting will be also a crucial opportunity to share the outcomes of the Stakeholder Conference on Air Passengers Rights, organized by the European Economic and Social Committee on 30 May, and to report on the European Aviation Club conference on Air Passenger Rights, scheduled on 15 June.
The 21 June IAG discussion in Brussels will include several guest speakers including Flor Diaz-Pulido, Head of Air Passenger Rights at the European Commission, Christopher Irwin of European Passengers' Federation (EPF) and Léa Bodossian of Airport Regions Conference (ARC) and Jacqueline Foster, Member of the Transport Committee of the European Parliament.
The Industry Affairs Group is ERA's forum for learning about and discussing aero-political affairs that shape our industry. The conclusion of these discussions enables the ERA Directorate to take Members' views to the heart of European policy-making institutions to influence the final Regulations.
The meeting will be held from 10h15-16h30 on Thursday 21st June and will kindly be sponsored by ARC, which will provide a room, coffee and lunch. For those that wish to arrive on the previous day there will be an informal self-funded dinner organized at a local restaurant.
