Operations Group meeting – registration open

The ERA Autumn Operations Group meeting is planned for 9–10 October 2018 as part of the General Assembly event to be held this year in Edinburgh, Scotland. Planned speakers include the SESAR Deployment Manager and EUROCONTROL representatives who will discuss ADS-B implementation and network performance.

The Operations Group is comprised of flight operations, planning, fleet management, training and engineering specialists drawn from across ERA airline membership as well as experts from the ranks of our associate membership. The group provides interactive, thought-provoking and constructive meetings typically twice each year. ERA member personnel directly involved in flight operations or flight operations support are invited to take part, contribute and help define the future operational policies of our industry and at the October meeting the group shall be discussing the recent decision by the European Commission to uphold the requirement for operators to retrofit aircraft with ADS-B technology with a proviso that reasonable exemptions will be permitted. The SESAR Deployment Manager, tasked with managing implementation will explain in more detail what this means for ERA members.

Following the success of the Spring meeting at the EASA headquarters in Cologne, the EUROCONTROL Network Manager Airspace Operator Liaison Cell will present a debrief of network performance over the summer,  mitigations and planning guidelines for next summer as well as other relevant topics and we also hope to welcome local ERA member Loganair to discuss the implementation of Performance Based Navigation and the benefits of EGNOS to their operation. Registration is now open for the meeting, taking place on Tuesday 9 October and Wednesday 10 October. Either register as part of your General Assembly registration (https://www.eraa.org/events/era-general-assembly-2018/registration) or for the meeting only (https://eraa.eventsair.com/ga18/ops).
