Thursday 11 April – food for thought

The panel discussion on passenger rights versus airline choice, maintaining the right balance, was always going to be controversial. Martin Isler, executive vice president airline and COO, Luxair, did a sterling job of chairing a session that, at times, provoked strong opinions.

 Wednesday 10 April – a meeting of minds

The first day of the annual ERA Regional Airline Conference (RAC) 2013 has proved to be a huge success. Delegate numbers have increased yet again and the day's two sessions boasted an array of high-profile speakers which provoked great interaction with the audience.

The first conference session, chaired by Simon McNamara, Director General, ERA, addressed the issue of how the European regional aviation industry is facing up to todays,' not inconsiderable, challenges. The challenges, as the audience recognised all too well, range from, what seems to be, the never-ending eurozone crisis, unpredictable fuel costs and disillusioned consumers to unwieldy and disjointed political decision making.
