ERA airline members are fully committed to supporting a transition to more sustainable aviation. In order to meet climate goals, ERA is part of the industry alliance Destination 2050 and focuses on the pillars outlined in its roadmap to reach net zero: improved route efficiencies, the introduction of new technologies and the use of sustainable fuels. Whilst regional aviation will have more and more financial pressure to ensure the green transition, it should be adequately supported so the sector can lend itself to new and clean technologies. Regional aviation should be the forerunner for testing and selecting the right technology and solutions needed to decarbonise the industry.
