José Ramón Bauzá, MEP
Bauzá is former President of the Balearic Islands, a pharmacist, Spanish army reservist and MEP for Renew Europe, the European Liberal Group.
In the European Parliament, he is the Renew Europe Co-ordinator of the Transport and Tourism Committee and Member of the Steering Group of the European Tourism Task Force.
He is also a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Delegations to the United States and the Arab Peninsula, co-ordinating the Liberal Group's policy towards the Middle East and North Africa.
From 2015 to 2019, he served as a Senator for the Kingdom of Spain. Before, he was President of the Government of the Balearic Islands from 2011 to 2015.
He is a strong advocate of the free market and individual responsibility. He is a polyglot and speaks fluent Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German and Italian.
Bauzá holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid, and has completed studies at the prestigious universities of Harvard, Oxford, Deusto and IE Business School.
