Nordic Regional Airlines
Nordic Regional Airlines, or Norra as it is now known, began in 1993 when Finncomm Airlines was established. Since then, Norra has had three main strategic periods: first was ‘entrepreneurial growth’ during which the company grew from a small start-up airline to become a major domestic regional airline in Finland. Then, for a period of three years in 2011–2014, it evolved to Flybe Finland, with the aim of growing significantly in the Scandinavian markets. Since 2015, the company has transformed itself completely into an airline providing ACMI services. Today, Norra operates 12 Embraer E190s and 12 ATR 72s for Finnair on over 55,000 flights annually to some 40 destinations. Norra has approximately 600 employees and its headquarters and operations centre are located at Helsinki–Vantaa airport. The company takes pride in providing safe, high-quality regional flight operations for other airlines in an agile, ecological and cost-effective manner.
