Finnish Government calls for balance on passengers rights
6 February 2024: In a Union communication presented to the European Parliament on 1 February, the Finnish Government has welcomed the objectives of the Commission's proposal and generally supports strengthening and harmonising the implementation of passenger rights. However, the balance between the obligations of transport operators and the rights of passengers must be ensured. The Government stresses that for enforcement to be effective, regulations must be of high quality and easy to understand.
REGI Committee publishes study on regional connectivity
6 February 2024: The REGI Committee has published a study on regional connectivity, suggesting replacing short-haul flights with high-speed railways.

ERA provides perspective on PSOs at CPRM transport working group
4 March 2024: ERA recently had the opportunity to take part in the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions (CPRM) Transport working group's aviation session alongside Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking and Celeste, the new regional airline member from Brittany.
IMCO Committee adopts its position on ADR
4 March 2024: The European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) Committee adopted its position on the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) proposal on 22 February. Given the high number of air passenger rights complaints, MEPs want to make it mandatory for airline carriers to participate in ADR.
FSR and DG MOVE joint conference on EU transport policy
4 March 2024: ERA attended a conference organised jointly by the European Commission (DG MOVE) and the Florence School of Regulation: ‘Moving Forward: What’s next for EU mobility & transport?’ on 21 February. During the conference, policymakers, industry actors and academics discussed the state of play of EU transport policy and the challenges and priorities for the future of EU mobility.
