Atlantic Airways
Atlantic Airways is an international company with a corporate culture characterised by its focus on safety, punctuality, customer satisfaction and obtaining the best results. Around 180 people are currently employed by the Faroese national airline, which is based in Sørvágur.
Atlantic Airways has three aircraft and two helicopters. The aircraft provide a regular air service from the Faroe Islands to a range of Danish cities, as well as the neighbouring countries of Scotland, Iceland and Norway; and since 1 July 2019, Paris, France. During the summer, the aircraft fly south to Barcelona and Mallorca in addition to the air service during the winter months to the Canary Islands.
The company’s activities include chartering, and part of its revenue is generated outside of the Faroe Islands. The helicopter department provides a scheduled air service between the outer islands, search and rescue services and offshore flights in the North Atlantic.
Atlantic Airways was the first operator in Europe to deploy the ground- breaking satellite-based navigation technology RNP AR 0.1.
