From 7 to 9 July, the Rhodes Forum reunited in Gothenburg, Sweden, to renew and strengthen their shared commitment to sustainable tourism and climate resilience. ERA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and accelerating the transition to sustainable tourism and transport.
This year, the joint association reinformed their commitment to:
- Act as catalysts for positive change through knowledge-sharing
- Support MSMEs in navigating climate and regulatory challenges
- Advocate for a strong public-private partnership for decarbonisation
- Invest in training, upskilling and workforce readiness for a sustainable future
The European Commission just opened a targeted consultation and a call for evidence relative to the development of an EU Sustainable Tourism Strategy. The group discussed potential joint actions and opportunities.
