Promote and co-ordinate air safety, operational efficiency and ATM modernisation

ERA advocates for a regulatory framework that improves airspace efficiency while aligning with EU Green Deal and Destination 2050 targets. The association supports interoperability, technical innovation, SESAR 3 collaboration, and an expanded role for the Network Manager in Common Projects. With air traffic demand surpassing pre-pandemic levels, ERA is working with the Network Manager to address delays caused by staffing shortages, capacity constraints and airspace restrictions over Ukraine. ERA is also closely monitoring performance-based navigation rules for 2030 and preparing for the 2026 Flight and Flow in a Collaborative Environment (FF-ICE) mandate, requiring flight plans to be filed in FIXM format.

Cybersecurity and aviation security remain priorities, with new Part-IS provisions on risk management taking effect in October 2025, with ERA is ensuring regional and cargo airlines are heard in regulatory discussions.

Through active engagement with policymakers and industry partners, ERA works to secure regional aviation’s place in airspace modernisation and regulatory decision making.
