Simon McNamara joined Loganair in 2025 as Head of Government & Corporate Affairs, where he leads the airline’s engagement with the Scottish and UK Governments, industry stakeholders, and regional and island communities. His role encompasses policy development, external advocacy and the advancement of Loganair’s environmental and commercial objectives.
McNamara brings 30 years of aviation industry experience to the role. Prior to joining Loganair, he led global government affairs at Heart Aerospace, a U.S. startup developing a 30-seat hybrid–electric aircraft. His earlier positions include heading IATA’s UK & Ireland office, serving as Director of Communications at Flybe, and as Director General of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from City University, London, and an MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University.
